My Story

Izak van der Merwe stumbled his way into photography on a fishing trip to a small spring feed stream in the central Waikato, New Zealand. Framing the world in a new way through his fathers old Nikon F90, he immediately feel in love with they way he was able to capture the world around him.

Fast forward a few years he had bought his first DSLR, went to art school and further pursued his passion for capture the world. Inspired by the outdoors, Izak focuses on capturing the landscapes and people that fill those. Looking for stories of adventure, exploration, beauty and not to mention a little romance. He has a drive to make every frame count and to use his skills gained from years camera exploration and Photoshop knowledge to bring the most out of every image he creates.
